Love is amazing and as it is described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 many people do not understand what love is. I’ve been stuck on this verse for over a month now. This part of verse 5 is an amazing part of love. Love ‘does not seek it’s own” I still feel that I don’t fully understand how powerful it is but I’m beginning to understand. Love is being completely selfless. Willing to do anything for someone who can’t or doesn’t do anything for you.  Love is realizing its not about you at all. I had a talk recently with an older woman that I had just met and it came up in conversation about her dad being in the army when she was growing up. Her mother cheated on her father or at least she (the daughter) thought the mother was cheating and she told her father that her mother was cheating on him. His response: “They’ll hurt her.” What a powerful example of this aspect of love. Love does not seek it’s own.
